Geneva – More than 600,000 additional people were internally displaced in Ukraine in the first 17 days of April according to the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) latest report released today, pushing the total number of internally displaced since the beginning of the war to over 7.7 million, 17 per cent of the country’s population.

IOM responded to the urgent need of securing dignified and private space for mothers and their babies fleeing Ukraine when crossing the border in Vysne Nemecke. On 11 April 2022, IOM in cooperation with St. Elisabeth’s University of Health and Social Sciences equipped a dedicated room.

As it has just been said by Kelly, more than 12 million Ukrainians and third-country nationals have already been forced to leave their homes since the beginning of this war.

In response to Ukrainian refugees and TCNs arriving in Slovakia, International Organization for Migration (IOM) delivered 500 blankets to the Kosice municipality and 700 blankets for immediate distribution to the Michalovce Registration Centre on 1 April 2022.

On 31 March 2022 in Michalovce, International Organization for Migration (IOM) Slovakia conducted a training for 7 frontline healthcare professionals working on caring for trafficked persons and provision them with health assistance.

Geneva – Over 7.1 million people have been internally displaced since the invasion of Ukraine, according to the second Ukraine Internal Displacement Report issued by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This represents a 10 per cent increase in number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine since the first round of the survey on on 16 March.

Geneva – Almost 6.48 million people are displaced in Ukraine as a direct result of the war, according to a study by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted between 09 and 16 March. IOM's data show that 13.5 per cent of those newly displaced had already had prior experience with displacement during 2014-2015.

Geneva / New York – Airbnb.org and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have announced today (8 March) their partnership to connect people fleeing from Ukraine to free, short-term housing in Poland, Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
